Lesson Four: Faerie Abilities
January 7, 2008
Hello again & welcome back. I’m surprised all that weapon talk didn’t drive you away! You must be serious about this battledome stuff … or you don’t have anything better to do.
Before I got interested in the battledome, I always wondered what those funny looking bottled faeries were for. Well, it seems that if you release the faerie inside, she will give your pet a special ability, one of the aforementioned (good word, huh?) faerie abilities. These are abilities that your pet can use in the battledome.
Now, you may be surprised (HA!) to hear that most of these abilities are pretty useless. Below you’ll find a list of the select few that are worth having. But don’t be thinking you can just get those abilities. Oh, no, that would be too easy and we know Neopets doesn’t make things easy on us. Sheesh.
To get a specific ability, you have to get all of the abilities that the type of faerie who gives out that ability gives out before that one. So, to get Burrow, you need to open a Bottled Earth Faerie, but the first time you do, you will get the Magic Pebbles ability, then Tough Skin, then Magic Berries, then - finally! - Burrow. So, to get Burrow, you will need four Bottled Earth Faeries.
Oh … and certain abilities aren’t available until you reach certain levels … just thought you should know … it’s important …
Anyway, here are the abilities you want to get …
Burrow (blocks 97.5% of all earth, air, water, fire, phys)
Sink (blocks 97.5% of all light, dark, water, fire, phys)
Drain Life (drains 10% of opponent hit points and gives them to you!)
Regeneration/Restore/Healing Vapour (33% healers — pick one; they’re equal — more useful for pets with lots of HP)
Fiery Gaze/Diamond Dust (freezers — pick one; dust is slightly better)
Steam Shield (blocks all light for one turn)
Water Breathing/Boil (pick one; blocks all water for one turn)
Quench (blocks all fire for one turn)
Heal (for weaker pets with less than 50 HP or so)
